1. Two women are facing assault charges after police said they attacked an employee at a Long Island 7-Eleven: 19-year-old Angie Vanegas and 20-year-old Iona Weston, both of Riverhead, were each arrested and charged with second-degree assault in the November incident. (Daily Voice)
2. The New York Jets and Nike are sponsoring girls flag football teams starting this spring, creating 16 new teams across Nassau and Suffolk counties. The 16 schools that were selected to participate will receive grants from the Jets and Nike to start the teams. In Suffolk, they are Amityville, Center Moriches, Huntington Station, Longwood, North Babylon, Sachem East, Sachem North and Ward Melville. (Patch)
3. A Riverhead man was arrested on a felony impaired driving charge after a crash on Flanders Road on Tuesday. Daniel Schilpp, 34, was charged with driving while impaired by drugs, felony due to a prior conviction, police said. (RiverheadLOCAL)
