🌱 Ice Hockey Rink Coming To Riverhead + Canceled Flights + Bookstore

Hey, everybody! It's me, your host of the Miller Place-Rocky Point Daily. Let's get this Tuesday started off right, with a quick guide to the most important things happening these days in town.

First, today's weather:

Here are the top three stories in Miller Place-Rocky Point today:

1. Peconic Hockey Foundation, based in Wading River, wants to build a domed hockey rink at Stotzky Memorial Park on Columbus Avenue. The 200-foot-by-85-foot NHL-size ice hockey rink would be built by the nonprofit and the town would provide the land. (Subscription: Newsday)
2. East Moriches resident Jocelyn Maningo Kaleita wants to open a bookstore in downtown Riverhead, "A Book Place" on Main Street this summer in the former Taste the East End boutique next to Jerry and The Mermaid on East Main Street. (Northforker)
3. Monday saw more than 1,000 flights delayed and canceled across the country. At John F. Kennedy Airport there were at least 27 flights canceled and at LaGuardia, 13. (News 12)
