Classic Car Crash + Boyfriend Arrested In Stabbing

A Rocky Point man died in a car crash while driving a 1934 Ford. An arrest has been made in the stabbing death of a Medford woman found dead in Holtsville in July. Animal advocates are mad about the 30 rabbits released into the woods in Calverton. The Suffolk County Sheriff's Office hosts a family-friendly event tonight in Ridge.

Raoul Rasch, 79, was driving a 1934 Ford eastbound on Route 25A and struck a westbound 2004 Ford pickup truck driven by Jose Herrera, 54, of Centereach, who received minor injuries. 2. CBS New York has the update on a Holtsville stabbing. The boyfriend of Sandra McIntosh was arrested upstate in Orange County. 49-year-old Wayne Chambers is charged with killing the 46-year-old nurse from Medford who was found dead on July 22. (CBS News)
3. Lisa Finn has an update on the Calverton rabbit abandonment case. Kathi Willi, 59, and Matthew Melton, 52, of Ridge, were arrested and charged with violations of Agriculture and Markets Law Section 355, animal abandonment, which is a misdemeanor. Animal advocates are planning to protest at their arraignment this Friday to call for the pair to get the maximum punishment. (Patch)

Suffolk Executive Steve Bellone announced that the Suffolk County Traffic and Parking Violation Agency is partnering with The National Safety Council to offer parents a free course on proper car seat basics.
