Cosmetology Students Pamper Local Seniors

The high schoolers practiced their skills by offering the senior living facility residents manicures on a recent visit.

Cosmetology students from Rocky Point found a way to practice their technical skills by giving back to the community when they recently visited seniors at the Atria Senior Living Facility in South Setauket. The high schoolers offered the senior living residents manicures.

The confidence-building trip allowed the students in the two-year program to hone their abilities with real clients, and the seniors enjoyed conversation and pampering. The students in the Career and Technical Education course were accompanied by teachers Jean Stiastny and Rosalie Retus.
