On October 25, Councilwoman Jane Bonner was at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rocky Point to meet with the members of Boy Scout Troop 244. She was there to speak about her role on the Brookhaven Town Council and to share her experiences in government. Councilwoman Bonner also talked about how the Scouts can help to make the community a better place to live.

Councilwoman Bonner said, "Leadership and dedication are what it means to be a Boy Scout and I thank Troop 244 for their service to our community. I look forward to meeting with the Scouts because they are very curious and ask so many good questions. Boy Scouts are the leaders of tomorrow, and from what I can see of this outstanding group, we’ll be in good hands.”
