  2. An East Patchogue man left a dog outside of a Shirley home in freezing weather according to police. George Beere, 54, left a female Akita in the backyard of a Shirley home on Feb. 5, when the temperature was below 20 degrees. (Patch)
  3. The $40 million sale of more than 1,600 acres of property at the Enterprise Park at Calverton may happen after a delay. Riverhead officials are transferring the property to another town agency to try to close on the deal. (Subscription: Newsday)
