Here are the top three stories today in Miller Place-Rocky Point:
- A driver who crashed head-on into a Riverhead school bus Thursday afternoon died.
Police responded to a report about an "erratic driver" in a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee who was failing to maintain his lane while heading west on Sound Avenue. (Patch) - A state appeals court ruled that a bow is not a firearm in the Town of Smithtown, which could affect the town’s regulation of deer hunting. The ruling, in a 2017 suit against the town by an East Quogue bow hunters' advocacy group, Hunters For Deer, means other townships with the same anti-bow ordinances must amend the laws. - Two students at Riverhead High School were found unconscious last week and were revived by the opioid overdose rescue drug Narcan. A school nurse was able to revive them by administering Narcan. (RiverheadLOCAL)
