Here are the top three stories today in Miller Place-Rocky Point:

1. A police sergeant was hurt after a drunken driver struck a police vehicle and one other car in Hauppauge early Sunday. Tracy Smith, 30, of Huntington Station, drove off the road and hit a Highway Patrol Bureau car that had its lights on behind another vehicle. The sergeant was released from the hospital. (Patch)
2. An Aquebogue man died after crashing into a tree Saturday around 11:57 p.m. on Sound Ave. near Northville Turnpike. Ryan Dupuis, 26, was pronounced dead at Peconic Bay Medical Center. (Patch)
3. The Gordon Heights Fire Department has its first-ever female fire chief. Moonee Rivers, a Gordon Heights native, took over the post in January. (Subscription: Newsday)
