- Greater Long Island reports that the project to improve a 1.7 mile-stretch of Suffolk County’s Route 112 is officially done. The $32.7 million rehabilitation effort upgraded the road between Granny Road and the Long Island Expressway with wider travel lanes, new turning lanes at key intersections, new stormwater drains for runoff, pull-over areas for buses, bike lanes in both directions, new sidewalks, curb ramps reflective pavement markings, crossing signals and a landscaped median.
