1. Five cars were stolen in one hour in Hauppauge on Thursday morning between 4:30 and 5:30 a.m., outside homes on Bezel Lane, Sandra Drive, Steven Place, and Maureen Drive. The cars were all unlocked and had the key fobs inside. (Patch)
2. Travis Jankowski, a former Stony Brook Seawolves star outfielder, was signed t0 the New York Mets this week. Jankowski, 30, appeared in 76 games for the Philadelphia Phillies in 2021 when he hit .252. (Patch)
