Lawmakers Celebrate Opening Day Of The North Shore Little League
Supervisor Romaine, Councilwoman Bonner and more than 800 attendees celebrated April 15 in Rocky Point.

On April 15, Supervisor Ed Romaine and Councilwoman Jane Bonner attended the North Shore Little League (NSLL) Opening Day ceremonies. The league, which was established in 1963, offers boys and girls, ages six through sixteen, the opportunity to play organized baseball and softball with their peers at fields on Route 25A in Rocky Point. More than 800 children on over 60 teams, came out to celebrate.

In addition to Opening Day activities, there was a ceremony dedicated to the memory of Paul Guido, who passed away in 2022. Paul, also known as “Mr. North Shore Little League,” dedicated 50 years of service to making the NSLL the exemplary organization that it is today. His sons were on hand to be presented with a beautiful banner in their father’s honor. Those who spoke at the event thanked the Guido family for their dedication to the NSLL and acknowledged the army of volunteers that make the NSLL the fabulous organization that it is.
