Police searched wooded patches along Route 25A and William Floyd Parkway on the North Shore, and a police command post was set up just south of 25A last week, as a police spokesperson said the department was searching the "entire area."

The search efforts also included the sheriff's office, and rangers from the state Department of Environmental Conservation.

School officials in the nearby Shoreham-Wading River School District advised parents of the police department's search last week, saying that it would be "on and near the campus" and announced there would be additional security guards on duty.

Friday a spokeswoman for the district said officials remained "hyper-vigilant."

A police department spokesperson on Monday said the search is ongoing.

Further details were not released.

Zoll is 6 feet 1 inches tall, weighs 150 lbs, and has brown hair and brown eyes, one of which has a small scar under it.

He is not believed to be in a vehicle, police said.

Zoll was previously reported missing but then found unharmed back in April, according to a police news release.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about Zoll's whereabouts, to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS, a confidential police hotline.
