Local Baseball Teams Readying for Playoffs

The Suffolk County Class A baseball playoffs begin Wednesday, and three local teams are in the running for the title.

Eighth-seeded Rocky Point will play at No. 1 Bayport-Blue Point on Wednesday at 4 p.m. Rocky Point finished its League VI schedule at 10-8, while Bayport-Blue Point finished its League VII schedule at 20-0.

Also on Wednesday, fourth-seeded Miller Place will take on No. 5 Mt. Sinai at Miller Place at 4 p.m. Miller Place finished its League VI schedule at 12-6, while Mt. Sinai finished its League VII schedule at 13-7.

The tournament is a double-elimination tournament. If Rocky Point suffers a loss on Wednesday, it would face the loser of the Miller Place-Mt. Sinai game, in a game to be held at the higher-seeded team at 4 p.m.
