  1. An 81-year-old Long Island man was found dead in a house fire in Selden Wednesday night. Firefighters responded to the fire at Magnolia Drive around 6:20 p.m., and Earl Rahman was found dead inside. (Patch)
  2. Suffolk police are searching for two dirt bike riders who were part of a pack of about 20 to 30 people blocking traffic in Medford on Saturday. They were involved in a road rage incident and damaged a Jeep Renegade near Woodside Avenue, between 3:50 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. (Patch)
  3. The Suffolk County Historical Society issued an apology for featuring an image depicting an advertisement for a Ku Klux Klan gathering in Riverhead in August 1926. The image was selected as the historical society’s “photo of the week." (RiverheadLOCAL)

  • Suffolk County is launching a free Diabetes Prevention Program, led by a trained lifestyle coach. It meets one hour per week for 16 weeks beginning in March. An informational session about the program will be held at Port Jefferson Library, 100 Thompson St., Port Jefferson on Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. (Patch)
