Miller Place Students Use Silence to Combat Bullying
Miller Place students take oath of silence to stop bullying.

Miller Place High School recently participated in the nationally recognized Day of Silence to remember those students who have taken their lives as a result of bullying.
Almost 100 high school students, donning black T-shirts that read “Be an upstander, not a bystander,” took the oath of silence.
The oath included a commitment to disconnect from all forms of social media to illustrate the silencing effects bullying can have. The national event brings attention to anti-name calling, bullying and harassment while encouraging students to treat eachother with more compassion.
