Pedestrian, 21, Struck, Killed By Car In Suffolk

The man was crossing the street on Monday night, police say.

ROCKY POINT, NY — A 21-year-old man is dead after he was struck by a car while crossing the street in Rocky Point on Monday night, Suffolk County police said.

Sharif Murray, of Rocky Point, was crossing the road on Route 25A, east of Rocky Point Road at about 9:30 p.m., when he was struck by a 2018 Subaru Forrester, police said.

Murray died at the scene, police said.

The driver and a passenger of the Subaru were not hurt.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
