🌱 Pedestrian Dies In Port Jeff + Friday's Crashes + Roof Thieves

Plenty of sunshine, but cold. High: 31 Low: 21.

Here are the top three stories in Miller Place-Rocky Point today:

1. A man died after he was struck by two cars while crossing Nesconset Highway in Port Jefferson Station on Thursday night. His name was not released. (Patch)
2. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Riverhead Town Police are looking for three men they say stole $1,500 worth of roofing shingles from the Riverhead Home Depot last October.
   The men stole 28 packages of roofing shingles from the Home Depot on Route 58 on Oct. 16 at approximately 11:30 a.m. (RiverheadLOCAL)
3. Friday's snow and freezing temperatures led to at least 155 crashes on Long Island. Suffolk County police responded to 88 crashes from about 2 to 11 a.m. (Patch)

Two proposals, one for 12 weekends of races running in April and May and August through October, and another for one weekend in early March, were presented to the Riverhead Town Board on Thursday.
