Rocky Point Bank Robber Nabbed: Police

The robbery occurred on Tuesday afternoon, police say.

A Suffolk County man faces charges for robbing a Rocky Point bank on Tuesday afternoon, police say.

According to authorities, Michael O’Brien, 29, of Sound Beach, entered BNB Bank, located at 75 Route 25A, approached a teller and presented a note demanding cash at 3:25 p.m. The teller complied and O'Brien fled on foot in a westbound direction, police say.

He was located and arrested at 11:10 p.m. on Glenwood Drive in Sound Beach following an investigation.

O'Brien was charged with third-degree robbery. He was held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Wednesday.
