- A proposal from the Department of Veterans Affairs to reorganize veterans' hospitals across the country that would have mostly shuttered the Northport VA was scrapped this week. The plan would have closed the emergency room and moved most services to other Long Island locations. (Patch)
- Six high school graduates, volunteers with the Port Jefferson Fire Department, rushed to a garage fire still wearing their caps and gowns on Friday. (Patch)
- A 10-year-old North Bellport girl was reported missing Monday morning. Iyanna Farris was last seen leaving home at 621 Americus Ave., at 10:30 a.m. She took a ride-share to West Columbia Street in Hempstead at approximately 11:50 a.m. (News 12)
