2013 Ms. Irish American Crowned in Mineola

Kelly Schlittenhardt takes first place in fifth annual pageant.

The following article was submitted by the Irish-American Society of Nassau, Suffolk & Queens.

The Irish American Society recently crowned a new Ms. Irish American, Kelly Schlittenhardt. The first runner up is Bronwyn Hagan.

The society would like to thank the Mineola Junior Fire Department for being escorts to all six contestants. The master of ceremonies for the evening was the incomparable Tony Jackson.

Kelly Schlittenhardt, 22, is a Long Island native hailing from Islip on the south shore. Passionate about music and theater, she is a singer, pianist, and violinist who has performed throughout the island, lower Westchester, and abroad in Rome and Costa Rica.

This May, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Music with a concentration in vocal performance from LIU Post University. She would like to thank her family- especially her grand parents James and Maureen Rafferty for their unconditional love and signing her up for this pageant.

She will appear at events throughout the coming year, including the Irish American Society’s annual Harvest Moon Ball, the Mineola St. Patrick’s Parade and the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in New York City.
