18-Year-Old Dies Of Injuries After SUV Crashes Through Fence
The crash occurred on Friday, Dec. 21.
An 18-year-old man from Mineola died three days after he sustained serious injuries from a crash in Williston Park on Friday, Dec. 21.
According to authorities, a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero was traveling southbound on Willis Avenue, near Center Street, when it left the roadway, drove through a fence and into a sump at 10:44 p.m.
Christian Melendez, one of the passengers in the vehicle, suffered serious injuries. He was pronounced dead on Monday, Dec. 21.

A second passenger and the driver suffered non-life threatening injuries. They were all taken to an area hospital for treatment.
