Beaten And Bound Cats Tossed Into Nassau Trash Chute: Cops
Police say a resident in the apartment building was charged with aggravated animal cruelty.

MINEOLA, NY — A Mineola man faces multiple animal cruelty charges after several kittens and cats were found beaten and bound near the trash chute of a residential building.
The abused felines were found by a building worker and resident at The Porter Regency building on Lincoln Avenue, Nassau County police said. The animals had suffered blunt force trauma and were tossed into the building's trash chute. Their bodies were bound with duct tape and placed in cardboard boxes and bed sheets. It wasn't immediately clear whether the cats were dead or alive.
Investigators worked with prosecutors to identify Justin Visconti, 37, as the abuser, police said. He lives in an apartment in the building.
