County Splash Parks To End Season With A Treat For Dogs

The five parks will hold the free event on Saturday from 10-noon.

MINEOLA, NY — Before shutting for the season, splash parks in Nassau County are being turned into dog parks for a day. The five parks will be open to dogs and their owners on Saturday morning.

"For most people, dogs are family members, and what better way to enjoy a Saturday than to bring your dog to the local spray park for some free fun in the sun?" said County Executive Bruce Blakeman.

  • Bay Park in East Rockaway
  • Grant Park in Hewlett
  • Eisenhower Park in East Meadow
  • Rev. Mackey Park in Roosevelt
  • North Woodmere Park

Owners, who must be county residents, are reminded to clean up after their dogs and leashes can be no longer than six feet. The dogs must be up-to-date on their vaccinations, the county said.

The free activity runs from 10-noon.
