The police commissioner said a secondary fence surrounds the stadium that will be a lockdown area. "Nobody will enter the stadium grounds unless they go through a magnetometer," Ryder said.

They are adding 100 more police officers to expand the usual staffing across the county, Blakeman said.

Bags will not be permitted at the sporting event, except for clear bags for medical purposes.

Matches at the newly constructed 34,000 venue run until June 12.

PSEG Long Island said it had prepared the electric infrastructure that serves the nearby facilities supporting the event.

"While the stadium itself is supplied by its own electrical generation, for the safety of the public, PSEG Long Island crews have worked to bolster the electric service to the area surrounding the stadium," David Lyons, PSEG Long Island’s interim president and COO. "They have performed inspections and maintenance of the specific transmission and distribution infrastructure that serve the facilities surrounding the stadium.”

Ultimately, the county executive is ready to welcome from around the world.

"I am extremely confident that this is going to be a very exciting and fun time here in Nassau County," Blakeman said.
