Officers Hurt Responding To Hospital Argument Monday In Mineola: NCPD

Nassau police accused a Valley Stream resident of refusing to leave and violently resisting arrest.

MINEOLA, NY — A Valley Stream man was arrested Monday after a series of escalating altercations at NYU Langone Hospital LongIsland, according to Nassau County police.

Officers were called to the hospital, located at 259 1st St. in Mineola, at 11 a.m.

They were told that Christopher Piccoli was involved in an argument with a female victim and refused to leave the hospital. When they attempted to arrest Piccoli, 37, he resisted and refused to comply with verbal commands, police said.

He became violent and combative, and two officers sustained injuries before police deployed a taser and were able to place Piccoli into custody, police said.

Officers were transported to a local hospital for treatment and Piccoli was also transported to the hospital for evaluation, police said.

Piccoli, of 272 E Beverly Parkway, is charged with two counts of assault, criminal trespass and resisting arrest. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday at First District Court, 99 Main Street in Hempstead.
