• Mineola seniors celebrated at Physical Education Awards Dinner (longislandpress.com) — Two Mineola High School seniors, Julianna Plunkett and Amanda Baker, were singled out as the district’s honorees at the 2025-2026 Nassau Zone Physical Education Awards Dinner. Recognized for leadership, character, and commitment to healthy lifestyles, they exemplify Mineola Public Schools’ focus on well-rounded student achievement. The district publicly congratulated both students for their standout contributions to the school community. 
• The primary race for governor that New York's GOP doesn't want (wamc.org) — Mineola gets a brief mention as the site of a past Bruce Blakeman news conference, but the main focus is a brewing Republican primary for New York governor between Blakeman and Rep. Elise Stefanik. Party chair Ed Cox argues a primary would hurt the GOP, while polls currently show Stefanik leading. The piece also notes other major statewide political developments this week.
