Tell Us: Potholes in Mineola

Snow may be gone from the streets of Mineola, but potholes are opening up in its place. Where are the worst?

Just as apples and stripped bass have their prime season, so too do potholes. They are predictable, unavoidable and a sometimes dangerous rite of passage on Long Island.

These gravelly, asphalt mini graves are the scourge of any commute, spilling coffee and jarring your teeth at every opportunity.

Snow piles are still visible two weeks after the blizzard of 2013 slammed the region. Freezing and unfreezing of asphalt creates stress. Roads also took a beating, snow plows scrapping and pounding the pavement as they cleared roadways.
