Car Kills Pedestrian On Sidewalk, Then Crashes Into Home: Police
Drivers are being asked by police to avoid North Broadway in Yonkers as emergency crews and investigators work at the scene.

YONKERS, NY — The Yonkers Police Department is investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash in the area of 693 North Broadway Sunday night.
Investigators believe a sedan traveling northbound on North Broadway hit a 70-year-old pedestrian on the sidewalk, killing her. The car then jumped a retaining wall and hit a home, with occupants of the house suffering minor injuries, according to police.
The driver of the vehicle, a 54-year-old White Plains resident was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening blunt force injuries.

Police say that they have started both criminal and accident investigations, and that North Broadway will be closed to traffic for next several hours.
The City of Yonkers and the Yonkers Police Department both offered their condolences to the family of the victim.
