Cross County Center Summer Fest Returns With A New Energy

Sip and paint anyone? The line-up also includes free outdoor concerts, food trucks, Zumba classes and kids' events.​

YONKERS, NY — Summer Fest 2022 at the Cross County Center has a jam-packed schedule of events to keep Westchester residents entertained all summer long.

The Cross County Center brought Summer Fest back for 2022. The series kicked off on May 24 and continues throughout the entire summer. Westchester residents will be able to find fun, free summertime entertainment at the shopping center, in between shopping and dining.

“Cross County Center is the destination for all things shopping and entertainment. We are excited to welcome shoppers of all ages back for an action-packed summer,” said Liz Pollack, Senior Manager of Marketing for Cross County Shopping Center. “Come out, enjoy the fresh air and all the summer fun you can soak up with friends and family while also visiting your favorite stores and eateries.”

THE ROCK AND ROLL PLAYHOUSE (new this year)
This family-friendly concert series is geared towards children 10 and under but doesn’t leave out the parents. The concerts are action-packed with games, movement, stories and an opportunity to rock out with your kids:

  • Wed. 6/29: Kid’s Rock & Roll Beatles, 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
  • Sat. 7/23: Kid’s Rock & Roll Bob Marley, 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
  • Sat. 8/13: Kid’s Rock & Roll Hip Hop, 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

An additional kid-friendly event will be the popular Bash the Trash Environmental Arts group, which will take place on July 13, from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Bash the Trash will use musical instruments built from recycled and reused materials to explore the concepts of sound, science, and sustainability.

FREE ZUMBA CLASSES

You can join Zumba instructor Guillermo Ruiz for a free Zumba class that feels like a party. The class will mix low- and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party, accompanied by Latin and World rhythms. Classes take place on Tuesday nights from 6:30 p.m.-7:15 p.m., until July 26.


FREE CONCERTS

Shoppers are invited to bring their beach blankets and chairs to The Green Lawn at Center Court to enjoy different genres of music, from June through August. Guests will also be able to enjoy tasty treats and savory snacks from local and regional food trucks at the concert events.


YONKERS ROTARY CHARITABLE CAR SHOW
The Yonkers Rotary will present their first charitable car show on Sunday, June 26, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the North Lot. The event will be open to all types of cars and motorcycles. Funds raised from entrants will provide scholarships to high school seniors in Westchester currently in automotive programs going on to post-secondary education in the automotive field. Free to spectators. Guests will also be able to enjoy music and food trucks throughout the day.


SIP N PAINT (new this year)
Here's a chance to get in touch with your creative side and relax your mind. You can join instructors from We Art One of Yonkers as they show you step-by-step instructions on how to paint museum favorites and whimsical scenes. No experience is required. Price is $40 per person and includes all supplies. Pre-registration is required, adults 21+ only.

  • Thu. 7/7: Sip N Paint, 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.
  • Thu. 7/21: Sip N Paint, 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.
