Cross County Westbound Shut For Hours As Crews Battled Vehicle Fire

According to the NYSDOT, all traffic on the Cross County westbound was diverted to the Hutchinson River Parkway for much of the morning.

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — The holiday commute got off to a rough start Monday with traffic brought to a near standstill on two of the busiest roadways in Westchester.

According to the NYSDOT, a vehicle fire on the Cross County Parkway westbound at Exit 9 - Hutchinson River Parkway in Westchester blocked all three lanes of of traffic. As of 7 a.m., all westbound traffic on the Cross County was still being diverted to the Hutchinson River Parkway at Exit 9, causing backups on both highways.

The lanes were reopened by mid-morning.
