Good Samaritan Killed In Saw Mill Crash ID'd, Driver Charged With DWI
A Manhattan man was killed trying to help a woman and a five-year-old child who were involved in an accident moments earlier.

YONKERS, NY — A good Samaritan who stopped to help at an early morning accident on the Saw Mill River Parkway in Yonkers was struck and killed this morning and police say the driver responsible has been arrested.
The tragedy unfolded around 1:15 a.m. Friday, after the driver of a 2016 Hyundai sedan traveling northbound near McLean Avenue lost control, struck a guardrail, then crossed the lanes of travel and struck the center median. The Hyundai came to rest back in the right lane, facing in the wrong direction, according to accident investigators.
A 2022 Honda CRV passing the scene pulled over, and one of its passengers got out to assist the woman driving the Hyundai and an injured 5-year-old passenger. As he was trying to help, the Hyundai was struck from behind by a third vehicle, pushing the car into the Honda CRV and fatally killing the Good Samaritan.
