Mount Vernon Woman Killed By Falling Tree On I-95 In Harrison
Breaking: The freak accident on the New England Thruway happened just after the evening rush hour on Tuesday.
WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — A Westchester County woman has been identified as the only casualty of a freak weather-related automobile accident yesterday evening.
On Tuesday evening, at around 6:30 p.m., state police responded to a report of a personal injury crash on I-95, between exits 18B (White Plains) and 19 (Rye/Harrison), involving a car and a fallen tree.
Crash investigators believe that Susan D. Braga, 34, of Mount Vernon, was traveling southbound in the area of mile marker 10.5, when a tree fell on top of her 2009 Toyota Prius. The tree bounced off the roof upon impact and the Toyota continued a short distance until it came to rest against a Ford F250.
