Mt. Vernon Opens Kindergarten Registration

Mt. Vernon has announced the dates for 2017 Kindergarten registration starting May 15 at Rebecca Turner Elementary School.

From Mt. Vernon Schools:Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten registration dates for the Mount Vernon City School District have been announced.

Students registering for Pre-Kindergarten must be 4-years-old before Dec. 1, 2017. Students registering for Kindergarten must be 5-years-old before Dec. 1, 2017.

Registration will take place at the following schools, days and times:

  • Columbus Elementary School: Thursday, June 1 at 1 p.m.
  • Graham Elementary/Middle School: Wednesday, June 7 at 9 a.m.
  • Grimes Elementary School: Wednesday, June 7 at 9 a.m.
  • Hamilton Elementary School: Thursday, June 1 from 1 to 3 p.m.
  • Holmes Elementary School: Wednesday, May 31 at 9 a.m.
  • Lincoln Elementary School: Wednesday, May 31 from 1 to 3 p.m.
  • Parker Elementary School: Tuesday, June 6 at 9 a.m.
  • Pennington Elementary/Middle School: Friday, May 19 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
  • Traphagen Elementary School: Thursday, June 8 from 8:45 to 10:15 a.m.
  • Rebecca Turner Elementary School: Monday, May 15 from 9 to 11 a.m.
  • Williams Elementary School: Friday, June 2, from 9 to 11 a.m.

In order for the Mount Vernon City School District to process a student enrollment, certain enrollment documents will need to be presented to the school district such as:

1. A photo ID of the student's parent/legal guardian (i.e.: Passport, State ID, or Employment ID)

2. Proof of age (i.e.: original or certified birth certificate or baptism record or passport)

3. Official immunization records

4. Previous school records

5. Proof of residency
