MOUNT VERNON, NY - Six candidates are running for three seats on the Mount Vernon school board.
The field includes two incumbents - they are Darthea "Darcy" Miller and Omar McDowell - and four challengers: Edward Poteat, Israel Williams, Stanley Russo and Arlene Torres.
Voting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 16 from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Information for local polling places can be found on the last page of the district's budget newsletter, which is here.
