Traffic Alert: 1-Month-Long Cross County Lane Closures
The daily lane closures for the next 4 weeks will be necessary to allow for guide rail installation, according to the NYDOT.
WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) is warning drivers about possible delays on the Cross County Parkway starting this week.
The NYSDOT said that the left lane of the Cross County Parkway eastbound and westbound between Exit 9 (Hutchinson River Parkway southbound) and the Hutchinson River Parkway northbound in Mount Vernon is expected to close for guide rail installation.
The closures will take place on Mondays through Thursdays, from July 18 through August 18, between 6 a.m. - 6 p.m., weather permitting, according to the agency.

The NYSDOT is reminding drivers to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Remember, fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in a drivers license suspension.
