Travel Alert: Key Thruway Exit Ramp To Close Overnight Tuesday
Signs for a detour onto Central Park Ave. will be posted for the next entrance ramp to southbound I-87/Major Deegan Expressway.

YONKERS, NY — If you're going to be headed home late on Tuesday, you might want to plan an alternate route.
The New York State Thruway Authority says the southbound I-87 exit 1 on-ramp (Hall Place - McLean Ave.) in Yonkers will close overnight on Tuesday, August 2.
The good news is the closure is not expected to affect the Wednesday morning commute. The ramp will be closed from 11:30 p.m. - 5:30 a.m. for maintenance activities.

Drivers should follow the posted detour on Central Park Ave. for approximately half a mile to the next entrance ramp to the southbound I-87/Major Deegan Expressway.
A Variable Message Sign will be activated ahead of the work zone to alert motorists of the closure and detour.

All work is weather dependent and subject to change, the Thruway Authority said.
The NYSDOT is reminding drivers to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Remember, fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in a driver's license suspension.
