UPDATE: Teens in Lake Nanuet Fight Plead Not Guilty

The seven teens charged were from New City and Congers. All pleaded not guilty on Wednesday and are scheduled to be back in Clarkstown Justice Court March 27.

 

Last week, a seventh teen was arrested in connection with the fight between 30 high school and college students at Lake Nanuet on Saturday, Jan. 12. 

Four teens from Pearl River and Nanuet were injured in the fight during which baseball bats and a knife were used and were taken to the hospital.

According to police, the brawl involved 30 male teens, aged 17 and 18, from Clarkstown North and Nanuet high schools. Police have filed charges including attempted gang assault, assault and criminal possession of a weapon against the seven youths from New City and Congers. 

The males arrested in regards to the Lake Nanuet incident who were charged with felonies are as follows:

  • Anthony Walsh, 17, New City (Attempted gang assault 1st, assault 2, and assault 3rd)
  • Troy Kay, 18, New City (Attempted gang assault 1st, assault 2, and assault 3rd)
  • Edward Ruckel, 17, Congers (Attempted gang assault 1st, assault 2, and assault 3rd)
  • Nicholas Termine, 18, Congers (assault 2nd, assault 3rd)
  • Anthony Termine, 17, Congers (assault 2nd, assault 3rd)

Jo Anne Fratianni of the Clarkstown Police Department said that since the other two arrested were only for misdemeanors, nothing can be released on them.

Their court date is Wednesday, Jan. 30 in Clarkstown Justice Court in front of Judge Rolf Thorsen. Kay, his parents and an attorney appeared for the 9:30 a.m. hearing. The rest appeared later in the day because of school. The court said that all pleaded not guilty and are scheduled to be back in Clarkstown Justice Court March 27.
