1 Dead, 4 Injured In Bronx Shooting: NYPD
The shooting took place Saturday night near Haffen Park, the NYPD says. A 17-year-old girl was shot in the face, officials say.
BRONX, NY — One man is dead and four others were injured after all were shot in the Bronx Saturday night, police said.
An NYPD spokesperson told Patch that a 32-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to his chest during the incident, which took place at about 7:27 p.m. near Haffen Park. A 17-year-old female sustained a gunshot wound to her face, police said.
Both the man and the teen were taken to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx in critical condition; the 32-year-old man died at the hospital, the NYPD spokesperson said. The 17-year-old female is listed in critical condition, he said.

In addition, other individuals were transported by private means to local hospitals, including a man, 30, who was shot in the back and is in stable condition, the NYPD spokesperson said. A 29-year-old woman was also shot in the back and taken to Jacobi Medical Center; she is in stable condition, he said. Lastly, a man, 42, was taken to Montefiore Hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm; he is in stable condition, the spokesperson said.
Four people have been taken into custody and the investigation is ongoing; officials have not yet determined what led to the shooting, the NYPD spokesperson said.
