13-Year-Old Girl Charged In Fatal Attack On NYC Taxi Driver: NYPD

Kutin Gyimah, 52, was beaten to death by five passengers who tried to run from his cab without paying the fare, according to police.

NEW YORK CITY — Police arrested a 13-year-old girl they say took part in the fatal beating of a taxi driver in Queens, the NYPD announced late Tuesday night.

The 13-year-old faces gang assault and theft of services charges for the fatal attack on Kutin Gyimah, 52, on Beach 54 Street and Arverne Boulevard on Aug. 13, police said.

Gyimah was fatally beaten by a group of five passengers he chased after after they jumped out of his cab without paying, police said.

One blow knocked Gyimah to the ground and he lost consciousness when his head hit the concrete, police said.

Austin Amos, 20, faces a manslaughter charge while Nikolas Porter, 20, and a 15-year-old girl have been charged with gang assault, said police.
