2 Court Officers Slashed, Left Injured At NYC Criminal Courthouse

An investigation remains ongoing.

NEW YORK CITY — Two court officers were slashed at a Manhattan courthouse Monday morning, police said.

The incident happened at 100 Centre Street around 9:45 a.m., police said.

The officers were attacked in the lobby of the building as they were monitoring the metal detectors and working security detail.

One officer suffered a slash wound to the face and another was slashed in the neck. They were taken to Bellevue Hospital for treatment and are in stable condition.

A third officer was pushed by the suspect into a metal barrier.

The suspect, a 37-year-old man, was taken into custody after the incident. Charges are pending as of Monday afternoon.

What led up to the slashing is not yet known. A motive into the slashing has not been determined.
