2 Suspects Sought After Stealing $24K From NYC Woman In Bank Scam: NYPD

NEW YORK CITY — Police are searching for two suspects who scammed a Manhattan woman out of $24,000 earlier this month.

On June 11, a 78-year-old woman received a call around 11 a.m. from an individual identifying himself as a bank employee and telling her that her account had been hacked, police said.

The victim then transferred $11,000 dollars to fix her account.

The two suspects later went to the victim’s home near West 239th Street and Henry Hudson Parkway and collected approximately $13,000 dollars from the victim.

The individuals fled on foot, traveling northbound on Henry Hudson Parkway.

There were no injuries reported from the incident. No arrests have been made as of Wednesday afternoon.
