2 Teens Dead After Moped Crash On NYC Parkway: NYPD

QUEENS, NY — Two teens on a moped were killed in a crash on the Cross Island Parkway in Queens over the weekend have been identified, police said.

The crash happened in the southbound lanes of the parkway near 150th Street Saturday morning around 2:30 a.m., police said.

The moped was travelling in the southbound lanes when it collided with a barrier wall, ejecting both the driver and passenger, police said.

Officers arriving at the scene found an unresponsive 19-year-old woman, identified as Giselle Flores, near a damaged Zhilo Fly Wing moped.

The 19-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police later learned of a 15-year-old boy, who arrived at Flushing Hospital Medical Center with injuries from the same accident.

The 15-year-old, identified as Andy Rodriguez, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The investigation remains ongoing.
