2nd Boy Charged With Murder In Stray Bullet Shooting Death Of Man In NYC

The victim and a 33-year-old woman were not the intended targets of the shooting, police said.

NEW YORK CITY — A second 13-year-old boy has been charged with murder in the stray bullet shooting death of an 28-year-old man in April, police announced.

The boy has been charged with second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon in the April 23 fatal shooting of Daoud Marji.

Last week, another 13-year-boy was charged with murder in connection with the deadly shooting, Patch previously reported.

The incident happened in front of 2690 University Avenue in the Bronx. Marji was shot in the head while a 33-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to the left hip, police said.

The 28-year-old victim was transported to Saint Barnabas Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The woman was taken to the same hospital for treatment.

Daoud and the woman were not the intended targets of the shooting, according to reports.

The 28-year-old had been meeting his out-of-town friend in the Bronx when the shooting occurred.
A motive into the shooting is still not known.

An investigation remains ongoing.
