2nd Boy Taken Into Custody In Fatal Shooting Of Teen Girl

Charges are pending as of Tuesday morning.

NEW YORK CITY — A second boy has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting death of a 16-year-old girl near a New York City school last week, police said on Tuesday.

The 13-year-old boy was placed in police custody on Monday, according to police and a report.

Charges are pending as of Tuesday morning.

The NYPD believe the shooting stemmed from a dispute between the Forest Over Everything crew and a crew called Kreep On Davidson.

Evette Jeffrey was found with a gunshot wound to the head around 5:05 p.m. on May 12 near the Bronx Career and College Preparatory High School on Home Street and Tinton Avenue, Patch previously reported.

Officials have said she was not the intended target of the shooting, and she had been riding her scooter near the school when she was shot.

Jeffrey was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals, where she was later pronounced dead.

It is not known at this time if police are still searching for additional suspects.
