30 Gang Members Indicted For Gun Violence Over 6 Year Period: DA

The groups are responsible for approximately 50 percent of shootings in Washington Heights and Inwood in 2024, prosecutors said.

NEW YORK CITY — Thirty gang members based in Washington Heights and Inwood have been indicted over a slew of homicides and shooting in the past six years, prosecutors announced Thursday.

Eighteen members of the “200/8 Block,” eight members of the “6 Block” crew and four members of the “Own Every Dollar” (O.E.D.) crew were named in the indictment, prosecutors said.

Members of the 200 crew have been charged with second degree conspiracy and second degree murder.

All eight 6 Block members are facing conspiracy, possessing illegal firearms, murder and attempted murder charges, prosecutors said.

The four individuals associated with O.E.D. are charged in connection with two separate shooting incidents, including one where O.E.D. members shot indiscriminately into a crowded basketball court, striking an innocent bystander in the chest.

“These groups have allegedly committed fatal and horrific gun violence in Inwood and Washington Heights over the past six years,” District Attorney Alvin Bragg. “I want to be very clear: if you traffic illegal firearms into Manhattan, or use guns to commit violence against fellow Manhattanites, you will be held accountable.”

The indictments allege an escalating pattern of violence from 2018 to 2024, when a 6 Block member allegedly murdered a rival 200 crew member. Since then, the groups are allegedly responsible for a total of 18 shootings, during which seven people were killed, including four innocent bystanders. Members of 200 also committed two gunpoint robberies, one of which was fatal, prosecutors said.

These groups are responsible for approximately 50 percent of shootings in Washington Heights and Inwood, which covers the 33rd and the 34th precinct, in 2024, prosecutors said.

David Collazo, 20, Blake Martinez, Steven Marinez, 26, Juan Lovelady, 26, Luis Martinez, 24, Joan Moya, 19, Ommy Ramos, 19, Bryant Ramirez, 22, Sebastian Alvarado, 20 and Roberto Figuereo, 16, were some of the defendants named by prosecutors.

“The NYPD, along with our partners, will continue to dismantle the gangs and crews responsible for fueling chaos on our streets, and will hold their members fully accountable for their senseless criminal actions," Interim NYPD Commissioner Thomas G. Donlon said.
