Alternate Side Parking Suspended As NYC Battles Coronavirus
The change will be in place for at least the next week, Mayor Bill de Blasio said Tuesday.

NEW YORK CITY — Alternate side parking will be suspended throughout the city from Wednesday as the city urges New Yorkers to stay in their homes.
Mayor Bill de Blasio announced the change Tuesday as he warned that a shelter-in-place order could be made within 48 hours.
Initially, the parking change will be in place for a week and may be expanded.

The mayor's office said anybody under isolation who gets a ticket should appeal it. Metered parking remains in effect.

The mayor also announced that ride share services will no longer be able to pick up groups of people through services such as Uberpool. Couples and families can still ride together.
