Amtrak Train Derails At Penn Station, Causing Delays
One set of wheels on Train 133 derailed while departing from the station.

NEW YORK CITY — An Amtrak train derailed at Penn Station Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
According to a message on its website, at 2 p.m., one set of wheels on Train 133 derailed while departing from the station.
Part of the train was still at the platform, allowing customers to safely and quickly depart the train.

Passengers are being able to travel on other trains out of the city, according to Amtrak.
A 20-30 minute delay is expected as Amtrak removes equipment from out of the station.

NJ Transit says the derailment caused 30-minute delays in and out of Penn Station.
As of Wednesday evening, LIRR and subway service has not been affected by the derailment.
