NEW YORK CITY — A body was recovered from the waters near Ellis Island Tuesday morning, police said.

A man's body was found by emergency personnel around 9 a.m., police said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The city's medical examiner will determine the official cause of death.
