Bomb Threat Made Against NYC Property Owned By Trump Cabinet Nominee

NEW YORK CITY — A bomb threat was allegedly made against one of Donald Trump's cabinet nominees' home in Manhattan on Wednesday, according to federal authorities and the NYPD.

Howard Lutnick's home on the Upper East Side was targeted, police said. Lutnick has been chosen as Trump's commerce secretary. The news was first reported by News12.

Lutnick is among other cabinet nominees who were facing similar bomb threats on Wednesday. Lee Zeldin's home on Long Island was targeted, he is tapped to lead the Environmental Protection Agency.

Rep. Elise Stefanik's family home in Saratoga County had also been targeted, her office confirmed to reporters.

The Trump transition team in a statement said, "Law enforcement acted quickly to ensure the safety of those who were targeted. President Trump and the entire transition team are grateful for their swift action."

In a post on X, the FBI said it is "aware of numerous bomb threats and swatting incidents targeting Trump Cabinet nominees and appointees. The agency said it is working with law enforcement and encouraged the public to report anything they consider suspicious."
