Bronx Fire Tears Through 6 Buildings (UPDATES)
At least one person was injured in a four-alarm fire in the Bronx on Wednesday afternoon, fire officials say.
CLAREMONT VILLAGE, THE BRONX — A four-alarm fire tore through six buildings along College Avenue in the Bronx on Wednesday afternoon, according to city fire officials.
At least one person sustained minor injuries in the fire, and was transferred to Brooklyn Lebanon Hospital, an FDNY spokesman said. Five firefighters were treated at the scene.
The blaze broke out around 1:30 p.m. on the second story of 1342 College Ave. — then ran through three more alarms in a span of around 30 minutes, the spokesman said.

Around 170 firefighters were called to the scene to battle the fire, which had spread to five additional buildings by around 2:45 p.m., according to the FDNY.
The fire was contained around 3:30 p.m.

The cause of the fire was not immediately clear. Investigation is ongoing.
